Andalusia Leads Spain in 2025 Gender-Based Killings of Women With 14

Spain counted 46 women killed by gender violence in 2025, according to the Equality Ministry.

  • Official year-end data compiled by Europa Press show Andalusia recorded 14 femicides in 2025, the highest total of any autonomous community.
  • The regional figure increased from 10 in 2024 and was lower than the 16 reported in 2023.
  • The most recent Andalusian case was registered in December in El Viso del Alcor, with monthly peaks in June and November at three cases each.
  • Elsewhere, Catalonia recorded five cases, Madrid and the Valencian Community four each, Extremadura three, several regions two, and others one.
  • Nationally, authorities also recorded three minors killed in cases of gender violence in 2025.
