Overview

• A working group between the Junta de Andalucía and All Nippon Airways has been created to plan medium-term direct routes from Málaga and Seville to Japan.
• President Juanma Moreno’s delegation has visited Cosentino’s Tokyo headquarters and will tour Fujitsu, NTT Data, Hitachi Energy Japan, Miki Travel and Kyoto Research Park.
• Moreno is set to sign a memorandum with Tokyo’s governor to foster cultural, institutional and economic exchanges and formally invite her to Andalusia.
• The mission seeks to replicate the 16% export growth achieved after last year’s China trade mission and attract Japanese investment in technology, renewable energy and tourism.
• Andalusia, Spain’s third-largest exporting region and the third-largest destination for Japanese tourists before the pandemic, aims to recover about 120,000 annual visitors through new direct air connections.
