Overview

  • On July 4, crews declared the Cártama fire under control after heavy helicopter support, a firetruck, two BRIcas brigades, a forest firefighting team, an operations technician and an environmental agent worked the blaze.
  • The Cerro Gordo fire in Cabra, active since July 3, remains under active suppression with a light helicopter, two ground-loading aircraft, a firetruck, three forest firefighter groups, a technical operations officer and an environmental agent on site.
  • At 16:00 on July 4, a third wildfire broke out near Montecorto, prompting deployment of heavy and semi-heavy helicopters, amphibious planes, coordination aircraft, multiple ground units, brigades, technical staff, command teams and a medical unit.
  • Plan Infoca’s rapid mobilization follows its established emergency protocols designed to curb fire spread during Andalusia’s high-risk early summer season.
  • Authorities continue hotspot monitoring and coordinated suppression efforts as soaring temperatures and parched terrain heighten regional wildfire vulnerability.
