Andalusia and Google Sign Two-Year Pact to Speed Regional Digital Transformation

Implementation now shifts to planning, with concrete programs to be announced in the coming months.

Overview

  • The agreement was signed on November 6 at Google’s Málaga center by regional minister Jorge Paradela and Google executive Miguel Escassi.
  • The framework spans four priorities: artificial intelligence and cloud, digital skills and talent, cybersecurity, and entrepreneurship and R&D.
  • The pact runs for an initial two years with an option to extend, and a joint monitoring commission with the Andalusian Digital Agency will oversee delivery.
  • Planned actions include training for citizens and public employees, upskilling educators, researchers and students on advanced AI tools such as Gemini and NotebookLM, youth-focused AI programs, and guidance on responsible use.
  • Business support will target cloud adoption and cybersecurity in coordination with Google’s Málaga hub, align with the Andalucía Cloud Strategy 2030 and the AI Lab Granada, and connect startups to Google for Startups.
