Overview

  • The government greenlit a €14.50 monthly raise for the 2025/26 academic year, completing total improvements of €145 per month for sub-group A2 and €165 per month for sub-group A1 teachers.
  • A total of 2,528 teaching positions will be added to public schools next year, with 1,328 earmarked for new reinforcement programs in mathematics, literacy, digitalization and special needs.
  • Among the hires, 775 are specialists in therapeutic pedagogy or speech and language to support students with disabilities and 46 are secondary guidance counselors for emotional well-being initiatives.
  • The combined investment of €386.8 million includes €256.8 million for the salary increase and €130 million for additional staff co-financed by European funds.
