ANA’s R2-D2 Star Wars Jet Set for Final Flight Ahead of Program’s 2026 Conclusion

Launched in 2015 through a licensing deal with Lucasfilm alongside Disney, the jets combined custom character liveries plus immersive cabin amenities that raised ANA’s global profile.

  • The R2-D2 ANA Jet will complete its final round-trip service between Tokyo Haneda and Washington Dulles on August 6, 2025.
  • ANA confirmed its C-3PO–themed aircraft will end operations in the first week of January 2026, with exact dates to be released this fall.
  • The themed fleet’s Boeing 777s and 787-9 Dreamliners featured exterior character liveries, headrest covers, paper cups and crew uniforms inspired by the saga.
