Overview
- Global Affairs Canada confirmed the October 12–17 itinerary as part of the Indo-Pacific Strategy with stops in New Delhi, Mumbai, Singapore and China.
- In Delhi, Anita Anand will meet S. Jaishankar and Piyush Goyal to move toward a framework for strategic cooperation covering trade diversification, energy transformation and security.
- A Mumbai program will bring the minister together with Canadian and Indian firms to support investment, job creation and broader commercial opportunities.
- In Singapore and China, she will meet Vivian Balakrishnan and Wang Yi to strengthen ties, push progress on a Canada–ASEAN free trade agreement targeted for 2026 and continue engagement under the Canada–China Strategic Partnership.
- Ahead of the visit, trade ministers Maninder Sidhu and Piyush Goyal discussed deepening economic engagement across clean technology, AI, agriculture, critical minerals and other sectors.
