  • From October 12 to 17, Foreign Minister Anita Anand will meet India’s S. Jaishankar and Piyush Goyal in New Delhi as both sides work toward a framework for strategic cooperation.
  • A Mumbai stop will bring meetings with Canadian and Indian firms to spur investment, job creation and new commercial opportunities.
  • In Singapore, Anand will meet Vivian Balakrishnan to mark 60 years of ties and highlight progress toward a Canada‑ASEAN free trade agreement targeted for conclusion in 2026.
  • Talks in China with Foreign Minister Wang Yi will continue engagement on the Canada‑China Strategic Partnership and build on the Carney–Li Qiang commitment to regularize communications.
  • Ahead of the trip, trade ministers Maninder Sidhu and Piyush Goyal discussed deepening economic cooperation in clean technology, AI, agriculture and critical minerals as part of a calibrated reset in ties.
