- Mexican authorities arrested Lira on Jan. 22, 2026, and U.S. investigators took custody at the San Ysidro port of entry the next day.
- She is charged with one count of murder with a felony enhancement for personal use of a weapon, carrying a potential 26-years-to-life sentence.
