Overview
- The Iwakuni-bound All Nippon Airways flight 639 departed Haneda around 8:35 p.m. local time and returned about 10 p.m. for inspection.
- Post-landing checks found damage to the aircraft’s nose/front landing gear, and the jet was unable to taxi under its own power.
- Airport staff also discovered damaged lighting on the departure runway used by the flight.
- The MLIT Tokyo Airport Office launched an investigation into whether the lighting damage is connected to the nose-gear damage.
