  • The incident happened on the A8 in Port Glasgow, Inverclyde, and both were pronounced dead at the scene.
  • The driver of the Land Rover was not injured, according to Police Scotland.
  • Greenock Road was closed for approximately five hours for forensic inquiries and has since reopened.
  • Investigators are asking anyone with witness accounts or dashcam footage to contact police on 101 quoting incident 0401.
