Overview
- New MRPs take effect on September 22 for more than 700 Amul SKUs spanning butter, ghee, paneer, cheese, ice cream, chocolates, UHT milk, bakery items, frozen snacks, condensed milk, peanut spreads and malt-based drinks.
- Notable reductions include a 1-litre ice cream tub from ₹195 to ₹180, 150g chocolate bars from ₹200 to ₹180, 500g butter from ₹305 to ₹285, 5-litre ghee from ₹3,275 to ₹3,075, 1kg paneer cheaper by ₹15 and a 1kg cheese block cheaper by ₹30.
- The cuts reflect GST changes that move many dairy and confectionery items to a 5% slab from higher rates, with paneer now exempt from GST.
- Pouch milk prices remain unchanged because these packs were already outside the GST net.
- Amul says revised prices have been shared with distributors, retailers and Amul Parlours, a consumer portal is live for cross-checks, and coverage indicates other dairies may follow as the new rates roll out.
