Amsterdam Court Probes Violence Against Israeli Football Fans

Five suspects face charges, including attempted manslaughter, after attacks on Maccabi Tel Aviv supporters following a football match in November.

Prosecutors have requested a two-year prison sentence for one suspect accused of leading the attacks, including kicking and punching victims.
While the violence has been labeled antisemitic by some, prosecutors stated there is no evidence of organized intent, terrorism, or antisemitic motivation, citing tensions over the Gaza conflict as a contributing factor.
The incidents left five people briefly hospitalized and sparked investigations into at least 45 individuals, with charges also filed against Maccabi fans for alleged provocations before the match.
The court is expected to deliver verdicts on December 24, with additional suspects, including minors, to face charges in separate proceedings.
