Overview
- Punjab Police report that Raja Singh, also known as Billa, was fatally shot after exchanging fire at a checkpoint in the Rayya area on November 24 during the investigation into the November 16 killing of shopkeeper Manjit Singh in Dhoolka.
- Officials say the suspect tried to flee on a motorcycle near Pull Sua Tong, opened fire, injured ASI Shankar Singh, and was shot in retaliatory fire before being declared dead at a hospital.
- Manpreet, also known as Shammi, has been arrested as a co-accused in the case following teams formed by SSP Suhail Mir using human and technical intelligence.
- A separate encounter near Jethuwal canal led to the arrest of Sukhpreet Singh, also known as Sukh, who police say provided weapons and shelter to the shooters, with a 9 mm pistol and cartridges recovered and his condition reported stable.
