Amitabh Bachchan Acquires Land in Ayodhya for Memorial Honoring Father

The Harivansh Rai Bachchan Memorial Trust has purchased a 54,454 sq ft plot near the Ram Mandir for charitable purposes.

Amitabh Bachchan's Harivansh Rai Bachchan Memorial Trust has acquired a 54,454 sq ft plot of land in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, 10 kilometers from the Ram Mandir.
The land was purchased for ₹86.05 lakh from HOABL Realtech Pvt Ltd, with registration completed on January 31, 2025.
The property is intended for a charitable project in memory of the actor's father, renowned poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan.
This is the second land purchase by the trust in Ayodhya, following a January 2024 acquisition of land in Haveli Avadh for ₹4.54 crore, designated for residential use.
Specific plans for the new plot are pending approval from local authorities, but it is expected to serve a social or cultural purpose.
