Amit Shah Urges Teaching Sahibzadas' Sacrifice at Haryana Veer Bal Diwas, Cites Govt Steps for Sikhs

  • At a state-level programme in Panchkula for Veer Bal Diwas, the home minister paid tributes to Guru Gobind Singh’s sons and addressed a packed gathering.
  • He said the sacrifices of the Sikh Gurus are unmatched and urged families to teach children about Guru Gobind Singh and his four Sahibzadas.
  • Shah said the Centre granted FCRA registration to the Golden Temple, facilitated the Kartarpur corridor, reopened 1984 riot cases, paid Rs 5 lakh compensation and gave citizenship to Sikh refugees from Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh.
  • He said schools nationwide have observed Veer Bal Diwas since 2022 with lessons and essay competitions to instil values drawn from the Sahibzadas’ lives.
  • During the visit he released a coffee-table book, launched Haryana’s Vision Document 2047 and distributed appointment letters to members of families affected by the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.
