Amit Shah Opens Expanded Sabar Dairy Plant in Rohtak, Announces 2029 Cooperative Target

The government touts the Rs 325 crore unit as the country’s largest facility for curd, buttermilk, yogurt to drive cooperative-led growth.

  • The Rohtak facility, linked to the Amul ecosystem, is stated to process 150 metric tonnes of curd, 3 lakh litres of buttermilk, 10 lakh litres of yogurt and 10 metric tonnes of sweets daily, with about 1,000 direct and indirect jobs expected.

  • At a Khadi Karigar Mahotsav in Rohtak, he distributed tool kits to 2,200 artisans and authorised Rs 301 crore in PMEGP margin money for artisans and MSMEs.
  • In Kurukshetra, he opened a five-day exhibition explaining India’s new criminal laws and inaugurated or laid foundations for development works worth roughly Rs 825 crore.
  • Reiterating sector goals under ‘White Revolution‑2’, Shah pledged to connect every village to cooperatives by 2029 and cited government figures claiming 70% dairy growth over 11 years.
