- Shah arrived in Guwahati and was set to chair the Assam BJP core committee meeting to review preparations for elections due next year.
- Ahead of the trip, the party named a new 18-member core committee with J.P. Nadda’s approval, including Himanta Biswa Sarma, Sarbananda Sonowal and Pabitra Margherita.
