• Shah arrives in Guwahati on August 28 to attend the Assam BJP core committee meeting and discuss readiness for next year’s Assembly polls.
• He will meet party leaders at the state headquarters and dine with members as part of a push to strengthen the organisation.
• The BJP has constituted an 18-member state core committee with JP Nadda’s approval to drive strategy, coordination and grassroots mobilisation.
• Friday’s programme includes inaugurating the Brahmaputra wing of Raj Bhavan, e-inaugurating the National Cyber Forensic Laboratory and launching projects for ITBP, SSB and Assam Rifles.
• Shah will address a convention of newly elected NDA panchayat members and open Golap Borbora’s birth centenary events, while the CM said BTC polls are not on the agenda and the PM’s Assam trip is moved to September 13–14 due to the Vice-President election.
