• The Vespucci sailed nearly 50,000 nautical miles over two years, calling at five continents, 32 countries and 53 ports.
• Initiated by Defense Minister Guido Crosetto and backed by 12 ministries, the voyage combined naval training with the Villaggio Italia mini-expo to showcase Italian culture and "Made in Italy" products.
• On June 10 in Genoa, President Sergio Mattarella and Admiral Enrico Credendino joined Crosetto for a ceremony as Italian and foreign sailing vessels escorted the ship.
