• Despite Huskins being released as promised, the police were skeptical of their story and even accused them of wasting resources and instilling fear in the community.
• The case took a turn when a similar attempted kidnapping led to the arrest of Matthew Muller, who was eventually sentenced to 40 years in prison for the crime.
• Huskins and Quinn sued the City of Vallejo for defamation and won a $2.5 million settlement in 2018.
