Overview

• Filming for FX’s series began in June 2025 in New York City with Sarah Pidgeon and Paul Kelly portraying Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy and John F. Kennedy Jr.
• Ryan Murphy released camera test photos showing provisional outfits that provoked backlash from fans and from Bessette-Kennedy’s former hair colorist for deviating from her signature style.
• Murphy insisted the test looks were not final, and said he has acquired original Bessette-Kennedy pieces and assembled a style advisory board to ensure costume authenticity.
• Jack Schlossberg said the Kennedy family was not consulted and criticised the series’ profit motive, prompting Murphy to pledge donations to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum.
• The limited series is slated to premiere on the Valentine’s Day week of 2026 as part of FX’s American Story anthology.
