Overview
- The national campaign began Sept. 18 and runs for seven weeks across almost 100 communities.
- Nominees are tasked with teaching Hands-Only CPR and raising funds to support cardiovascular, cerebrovascular and brain health research and programs.
- Local rosters were unveiled in multiple regions, including Long Island (nine nominees), Colorado (four), San Antonio (seven), Greater Maryland (three), San Diego (four), Oregon and SW Washington (nine), the San Francisco Bay Area (eight), Atlanta (six) and Des Moines (four).
- Each city will celebrate a local Leaders of Impact winner, and the highest fundraiser nationwide will be named the 2025 National Leaders of Impact Winner.
- The AHA cites more than $6.1 billion invested in heart and brain research since 1949, with 2,200 active projects totaling over $584 million in current support.
