American Families Sue Billionaire Bashar Masri for Alleged Role in Hamas Terror Infrastructure

The lawsuit accuses Masri of using U.S. and international development funds to aid Hamas operations, including building attack tunnels and supporting militant activities in Gaza.

A lawsuit was filed on April 7, 2025, in U.S. District Court by nearly 200 American victims and families of those killed in the October 7, 2023, Hamas attacks in Israel.
The plaintiffs allege that Palestinian-American billionaire Bashar Masri and his companies facilitated Hamas operations by constructing and concealing attack tunnels and providing electricity to militant infrastructure.
The lawsuit claims that Masri diverted U.S. taxpayer funds and international aid, including USAID and World Bank financing, to support Hamas’s terror networks in Gaza.
Masri is also accused of hosting Hamas leaders and operations at properties he owns, including two luxury hotels and the Gaza Industrial Estate, which allegedly concealed tunnel entrances.
Masri denies all allegations, calling the claims baseless and asserting that neither he nor his companies have engaged in unlawful or violent activities.
