American Airlines Reveals Retro ‘Flagship’ Centennial Livery for 777-300ER Entering Service in November

The retro design signals a 777-300ER refresh featuring Flagship Suites alongside upgraded Premium Economy.

Overview

  • The specially painted jet, registered N735AT, will carry the name “Flagship DFW” in tribute to the airline’s Dallas–Fort Worth hub.
  • The scheme revives DC-3–era cues with a Silver Eagle base, an orange lightning bolt along the fuselage, and an eagle roundel near the aft section.
  • American is pairing the rollout with a 777-300ER cabin reconfiguration to 70 Flagship Suite seats and 44 Premium Economy seats.
  • Flagship Suite features include privacy doors, wireless charging pads, and a chaise lounge seating position, with upgrades planned for Premium Economy.
  • The aircraft is set for long-haul international service beginning in November, with reporting pointing to rotations to Australia, Japan and the United Kingdom.
