Overview

  • On July 1, America First Legal lodged a Title VII complaint with the EEOC alleging the Dodgers and Guggenheim Partners engage in unlawful discrimination hidden within their diversity, equity and inclusion programs.
  • The complaint cites business resource groups such as Asian Professionals, Black Action Network, SOMOS La and Women’s Opportunity Network as providing material benefits based on race, sex or national origin.
  • It seeks EEOC access to application data and internal human resources policies to assess whether protected classes receive unlawful advantages in hiring or promotions.
  • America First Legal referenced a June 19 incident when Customs and Border Protection vehicles were denied entry to Dodger Stadium parking lots in its press release.
  • The EEOC has confirmed receipt of the filing and is weighing a formal investigation; neither the Dodgers nor Guggenheim Partners has commented.
