AMD’s New Radeon Driver Shifts Support to RX 7000/9000, Confirms Windows 10 Still Works

The update prioritizes recent Radeon generations, leaving older RDNA cards on critical-fix maintenance.

Overview

  • Adrenalin 25.10.2 adds official support for Battlefield 6 and Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, with new game optimizations limited to Radeon RX 7000 and RX 9000 GPUs.
  • AMD confirmed RDNA 1 and RDNA 2 (Radeon RX 5000/6000) enter maintenance mode that focuses on security patches and bug fixes rather than new features or optimizations.
  • Despite release notes listing only Windows 11, AMD clarified the driver continues to support Windows 10 and can be installed via the Windows 11 package.
  • The release expands Vulkan API extensions, introduces initial Work Graphs on RX 9000, and adds support for the Ryzen AI 5 330 APU.
  • Multiple game crashes and security CVEs are resolved, but known issues remain including Cyberpunk 2077 path-tracing save crashes and Battlefield 6 timeouts on Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, and USB-C power and USB functions are disabled on RX 7900 with 25.3.1 recommended if needed.
