AMD Sets July 23 Launch for Zen 5 Threadripper Pro 9000 WX and Radeon AI Pro R9700

Leaked benchmarks, official price lists, early performance tests highlight generational IPC gains alongside massive AI accelerations ahead of retail availability.

Overview

  • AMD confirmed that its Zen 5-based Threadripper Pro 9000 WX CPUs and RDNA 4-based Radeon AI Pro R9700 GPU will hit retail on July 23 via global OEMs including Dell, HP, Lenovo and Supermicro as well as AMD’s channel partners.
  • The Threadripper Pro lineup spans five SKUs from the 16-core, 32-thread 9955WX at $1,649 to the flagship 96-core, 192-thread 9995WX at $11,699.
  • Internal AMD testing shows the flagship 9995WX delivers up to 26% faster performance over its Zen 4 predecessor and nearly 5× AI inference gains compared with Intel’s Xeon W9-3595X.
  • Unofficial Cinebench R23 leaks report the 9995WX scoring 173,452 points—a roughly 73% multi-core uplift over the Pro 7995WX under high-power PBO conditions.
  • The Radeon AI Pro R9700 GPU will initially be limited to pre-built workstation systems and is positioned for professional AI development and high-throughput inference.
