AMD Recalls and Delays Ryzen 9000 CPUs Due to Quality Concerns

Initial production units failed to meet quality standards, prompting a global recall and rescheduled launch dates in August.

Ryzen 7 9700X and Ryzen 5 9600X will now launch on August 8; Ryzen 9 9950X and Ryzen 9 9900X on August 15.
The issue was identified during final checks and relates to the packaging process of the CPUs.
AMD has pulled back all units shipped globally to ensure no defective chips reach customers.
The recall affects both retail and OEM units, with reviews and preorders also impacted.
AMD aims to prevent a situation similar to Intel's recent prolonged CPU quality issues.
