AMD Driver Update Lets Radeon Users Force FSR 4 in Most DX12 FSR 3.1 Games

The new driver adds a toggle that lets RX 9000‑series owners apply FSR 4 in most DirectX 12 games built with a signed FSR 3.1 DLL.

Overview

  • Adrenalin 25.9.1 introduces a driver-level override that replaces a game's FSR 3.1 implementation with FSR 4 via a toggle in the AMD Software app.
  • AMD says the update brings official FSR 4 coverage to more than 85 titles, with Wccftech noting new support for Borderlands 4 and Hell Is Us.
  • The feature is limited to Radeon RX 9000‑series GPUs and applies only to DirectX 12 games that use a signed FSR 3.1 DLL, leaving Vulkan titles out.
  • PC Gamer reports that users must enable FSR 3.1 in-game and then switch on the FSR 4 toggle, and it cautions that driver-forced upgrades may not match native developer integrations.
  • The 25.9.1 release also delivers bug fixes and optimizations, including stability improvements for titles such as Wuchang: Fallen Feathers and Monster Hunter Wilds.
