AMD Announces New AI Accelerator to Compete with NVIDIA

AMD unveiled their MI300X AI chip which features multiple GPU "chiplets" and 192GB of memory.
The MI300X is designed specifically for AI and HPC workloads and can handle larger models than competitors.
The MI300X offers significantly more memory and bandwidth than Nvidia's competing H100 GPU.
The MI300X will begin shipping to customers later this year though still faces challenges competing with NVIDIA's products.
AMD's new chip represents their attempt to gain market share in the AI accelerator market currently dominated by NVIDIA.
