AMD announces $400 million investment in India to establish major chip design center

AMD plans to invest $400 million in India over the next 5 years to expand R&D capabilities.
The company will build its largest design center in Bengaluru, adding 500,000 square feet by end of 2022.
Investment aims to support India's goal of becoming a global semiconductor manufacturing hub.
AMD currently has over 6,500 employees across 10 offices in India and will add 3,000 engineering roles.
India has attracted investments from chipmakers like Applied Materials and Micron as it develops its semiconductor industry.
