Overview
- AMD quietly introduced two six-core Ryzen 5 chips that are now listed on product pages and appearing at retailers.
- The Ryzen 5 7500 is a Zen 4 AM5 part with integrated RDNA2 graphics, a 3.7 GHz base, up to 5.0 GHz boost, 38 MB total cache, and a 65 W TDP.
- The Ryzen 5 5500F is a Zen 3 Vermeer AM4 chip with 3.0 GHz base, up to 4.4 GHz boost, 16 MB L3 cache and native PCIe 4.0 support.
- AMD confirmed suggested e-tailer prices of $189 for the 7500 and $99 for the 5500F, and multiple outlets report U.S. retail availability.
- The two SKUs extend AMD’s support for both sockets by giving budget builders an AM4 upgrade path and a lower-cost AM5 option, which could ease demand pressure from expensive DDR5 and discrete GPUs and prompt short-term retail price shifts.
