• Murad had reported to ANI that the viral post listed his date of birth and a fabricated date of death alongside a tribute.
• He said he was inundated with calls and messages from around the world and condemned the hoax as shameful while urging punishment for such acts.
• Police had earlier indicated an FIR would be pursued and legal steps taken; as of now, no arrest has been announced.
