Overview

  • Amber slipped out of her Bramshaw foster home on April 25 by digging beneath eight-foot deer fencing and was unaccounted for 36 days.
  • Over that time she covered about 100 miles across Hampshire and Dorset with 63 confirmed sightings guiding search teams.
  • Volunteers from KS Angels Rescue and Lost Dog Recovery set up camera traps and feeding stations to track her progress.
  • After paddling roughly a mile from Sandbanks to Brownsea Island and spending days with a resident feeder, she attempted the return swim and was rescued by a boat crew in Poole Harbour on May 31.
  • Vets found her underweight but otherwise healthy and she is now rebuilding her condition and social confidence with her foster family ahead of adoption.
