The father, a 38-year-old man recently released from prison, is suspected of carrying out the abduction using a bladed weapon.
Authorities have described the suspect as a man of Maghrebi descent, 1.65m tall, with short black hair, brown eyes, and wearing a navy blue puffer jacket, black pants, and black sneakers.
The suspect is believed to have fled in a light gray Audi A3 with license plate BD-761-QQ, prompting cross-border alerts with Belgian authorities.
A coordinated search effort involving 12 gendarmerie patrols and a specialized team from Lille is underway, with the public urged to contact authorities with any sightings but not to intervene directly.
