AMBA Transit Fares Rise 3.9% Under Automatic Update as Córdoba Extends SUBE–Red Bus Coexistence

Registered SUBE users retain subsidized pricing as October emergency balances take effect for buses, trains and subways.

Overview

  • The Secretaría de Transporte activated the October tariff table, applying the CPI-plus-2% mechanism for a 3.9% rise across provincial and city bus lines in AMBA, the Buenos Aires Subway and the Premetro.
  • Bus routes of national jurisdiction that run across CABA and Buenos Aires Province did not change on October 1, remaining at the values set in mid-July.
  • Fares now differ by card status, with unregistered SUBE users paying substantially more than registered riders due to the loss of automatic subsidies, in many cases around 60% higher.
  • The SUBE negative balance for October was updated to $1,200 for buses, the Buenos Aires Subway and Delta fluvial services, $650 for AMBA trains, and $480 for the Urquiza line pending gate upgrades.
  • Córdoba’s municipality confirmed the indefinite coexistence of SUBE and the local Red Bus system and reported distributing about 280,000 SUBE cards, with senior benefits (70+) already migrating to SUBE.
