Overview

  • On April 28, 2025, United Launch Alliance's Atlas V rocket successfully launched 27 production satellites for Amazon's Project Kuiper from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
  • Amazon has confirmed that all 27 satellites are operating as expected in low Earth orbit, with initial deployment and activation progressing smoothly.
  • Project Kuiper aims to deploy over 3,200 satellites to provide high-speed, low-latency internet to underserved regions worldwide, with services expected to begin later this year.
  • Amazon has committed over $10 billion to the project and secured more than 80 launches with providers including ULA, Arianespace, Blue Origin, and SpaceX to meet its FCC-mandated mid-2026 deadline for half the constellation.
