Overview
- Starting February 26, 2025, Amazon will discontinue the 'Download and Transfer via USB' feature for Kindle e-books.
- The feature allowed users to download e-books to computers, enabling offline storage and DRM removal for use on non-Kindle devices.
- Modern Kindle users who rely on Wi-Fi for book downloads will not be affected, as the 'Send to Kindle' feature remains available.
- The change primarily impacts users of older, non-Wi-Fi Kindles and those who use third-party software to manage or convert e-books.
- Users who wish to download their Kindle library via USB must do so before the deadline, as bulk downloads are not supported.
