Overview

  • Amazon Health Services is now organized into six pillars: One Medical Clinical Care Delivery; One Medical Clinical Operations and Performance; AHS Strategic Growth and Network Development; AHS Store, Tech and Marketing; AHS Compliance; and AHS Pharmacy Services.
  • The restructuring follows the departures of chief medical officer Sunita Mishra, healthcare vice president Aaron Martin, pharmacy CMO Vin Gupta and One Medical CEO Trent Green.
  • Amazon confirmed there have been no broad layoffs tied to the shakeup and senior vice president Neil Lindsay reports the health business is experiencing very strong growth.
  • The company plans to open pharmacies in 20 additional cities this year, extending same-day medication delivery eligibility to about 45% of U.S. customers.
  • Since acquiring PillPack in 2018 and One Medical in 2023, Amazon has been expanding care offerings with new primary care offices planned in New Jersey, New York and Ohio.
