Amazon recruits small businesses to supplement delivery network
- Amazon is launching a program that uses small businesses to help complete deliveries in 23 states.
- Amazon will pay participating small businesses about $2.50 for each package delivered.
- Amazon aims to work with 2,500 small business delivery partners by the end of 2023.
- The program allows Amazon to rely less on its own dedicated couriers for "last mile" deliveries.
- The small business partners will use their own staff, vehicles and devices to make deliveries for Amazon seven days a week.
