Overview
- Amazon announced the rebrand Thursday and kept the same $11.99 monthly price plus the existing limit of 20 borrowed digital titles at a time.
- U.S. Kindle+ subscribers immediately gain access to more audiobooks, including human‑narrated ACX titles and AI‑voiced editions created with Amazon's Virtual Voice.
- The audiobook benefit is live only in the United States at launch while other marketplaces, including Canada, show the new name but do not yet get audio access and Amazon has not provided a rollout timeline.
- Authors who enroll e-books in KDP Select will have matching Virtual Voice audiobooks automatically included in Kindle+ unless they unpublish the audiobook, and ACX audiobooks can be enrolled separately if they meet Audible exclusivity rules.
- Listening usage will be paid by page from the KDP Select Global Fund and Amazon says it will add money to that fund to cover audiobook listening so e-book payouts are not diluted.
