- Amazon notified users on Monday, Sept. 21 that it will increase Prime subscription fees in Mexico and began charging the new rates to new customers immediately.
- The new prices are 129 pesos per month (up from 99) and 945 pesos per year (up from 899), a roughly 30% rise for monthly payers and a 5.1% rise for annual payers.
- Existing members will be billed the higher amount on the first renewal date on or after Oct. 21, 2026, and customers may cancel before renewal and keep benefits until their paid cycle ends.
- Amazon says membership benefits will not change and is promoting the annual plan and a 12-month, no-interest payment option that effectively lowers the monthly equivalent to about 78.75 pesos.
- The move follows a wave of subscription price increases in Mexico this year and will raise household costs for people who pay monthly, creating a strong incentive to switch to the annual option or reassess Prime use.
