Amazon Launches Titan AI Image Generator with Invisible Watermark

The new AI tool, aimed at reducing misinformation, will be available to AWS customers on Bedrock, with Amazon providing copyright indemnity to users.

Amazon has announced Titan, a new AI image generator that creates an 'invisible watermark' on every deepfake, aimed at reducing the spread of misinformation.
The watermark does not impact the image quality and cannot be 'cropped or compressed out'.
To determine if an image is AI-generated, users will need to connect to a separate API, with individual companies deciding how to provide this information to users.
Amazon's Titan Image Generator is part of the company's Titan family of generative AI models, available to AWS customers on Bedrock, Amazon’s AI development platform.
Amazon will extend copyright indemnity to customers who use its Titan foundation models, providing legal cover even if the app used a different foundation model found in its Bedrock AI model repository.
