Overview
- Amazon India, in a Monday announcement, said about 50 Eicher Pro-X electric trucks are already running with a goal of around 1,000 on the road by 2028.
- The first units will serve Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru and Mumbai before wider deployment across other major cities.
- Each truck is built for 100–180 km of daily urban routes with roughly 50-minute fast charging to enable multiple trips.
- The vehicles will shuttle goods from outer-city fulfilment hubs to a growing web of Amazon Now micro-fulfilment centers as the service scales to 100 cities and more than 1,000 sites.
- VECV said it co-developed the small truck with Amazon after work that began in 2022, extending Amazon’s EV push that includes over 12,000 electric vehicles and more than 100 electric trucks deployed in 2025.
