Overview
- Amazon added more than 100 new shopping actions that let users create and edit lists and registries, manage Subscribe & Save deliveries, update delivery instructions, and resolve billing questions by voice.
- The new controls let Alexa perform agentic tasks such as auto-buying an item when it reaches a target price and tracking price history to time purchases.
- Amazon says over 400 million customers used Alexa for Shopping in the past 12 months and reports an eightfold rise in use of its agentic features since the start of the year.
- These capabilities are available now to U.S. customers via the Alexa icon in the Amazon Shopping app and on desktop and tie into Prime, Audible, Amazon Lens and other Amazon services.
- The rollout builds on months of AI-driven shopping investments — including price alerts and visual search — and could change how people automate routine shopping tasks and manage accounts by voice during the holiday season.
