Overview
- U.S. Marshals and Allentown homicide detectives took Troy Johnson, 30, into custody around 7:30 a.m. at a family member’s home on the 5400 block of Norfolk Street in Southwest Philadelphia.
- He was arrested without incident and transported to Lehigh County for processing, according to authorities.
- Investigators say a Nov. 21 confrontation in Allentown ended when Johnson deliberately struck 29-year-old Rigoberto E. Hernandez Arias with a delivery van and fled, and the death was ruled a homicide.
- A Dec. 10 warrant charged Johnson with third-degree murder, and prosecutors also cited involuntary manslaughter, accidents involving death, and reckless endangerment.
- Amazon said Johnson worked for a Delivery Service Partner, called the case a “terrible tragedy,” and confirmed he was suspended and is no longer eligible to deliver for the company.
