Amazon and MGM Win Rights to 'Best of Enemies' Starring Cooper and Bale

Bradley Cooper and Christian Bale are set to star in a new spy thriller film, 'Best of Enemies', an adaptation of the novel 'Best of Enemies: The Last Great Spy Story of the Cold War' by Eric Dezenhall and Gus Russo.
The film, which is expected to have a theatrical release, is reportedly the biggest pitch deal of the year, with the deal being in the high seven figures.
The plot of the film follows CIA agent Jack Platt (played by Cooper) and KGB agent Gennady Vasilnko (played by Bale) who develop an unlikely friendship and are involved in some of the most famous spy stories of the 20th century.
Amazon and MGM Studios won the rights to the film after a major bidding war, beating out seven other studios including Warner Bros.
Bradley Cooper is rumored to be directing the film, but this has not yet been confirmed.
