Amazon and Embracer Group Announce Partnership to Develop Open-World 'Lord of the Rings' MMORPG

Amazon Games has partnered with Embracer Group to develop an open-world massively multiplayer online role-playing game set in Middle-earth based on The Lord of the Rings.
The game is in early development and will be released globally for PC and consoles at an unspecified date.
The game will feature stories and settings from The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings trilogy.
This partnership marks Amazon's second attempt at developing a Lord of the Rings MMORPG after a previous attempt was canceled in 2021.
Amazon is refocusing its gaming division, and this game is one of several projects in development including New World and a new Tomb Raider title.
