Amarnath Yatra Resumes as Fresh Batch of 6,365 Pilgrims Departs

  • Heavy rain and landslides on July 17 killed a Rajasthan pilgrim and injured four along the Baltal route, prompting a 24-hour suspension of the pilgrimage.
  • On July 19, 6,365 devotees—including 1,499 women, 441 children and 135 sadhus and sadhvis—left the Bhagwati Nagar base camp for the Amarnath shrine.
  • Pilgrims traveled in two separate convoys under tight security: 3,514 in 119 vehicles to Nunwan-Pahalgam and 2,851 in 92 vehicles via Baltal.
